SMARTRES project will allow benchmarking the best-practice solutions and identifying the early warnings, improving resilience of Smart Critical Infrastructures against new threats. ED has been involved in the software design of a tool for assessing the resilience of Smart Critical Infrastructures, based on indicators. ED also acts as the Dissemination and Exploitation Leader of the project
TRESSPASS project includes air, maritime and land border crossing points, and also travel routes that combine different modalities.
Its aim is to develop a single cohesive risk-based border management concept, enhanced with red teaming actions and simulations, demonstrated in three pilots.
ED will undertake the implementation the Dynamic Risk Assessment System module of the system which will act as an “automated decision-maker” on the data extracted during the TRESSPASS procedure, and for the integration of the overall solution.
FOLDOUT focus is on detecting and tracking activity in foliated areas, in the inner and outermost regions of the EU and aims to build a system that combines various sensors and technologies and intelligently fuses these into an effective and robust intelligent detection platform. ED will participate in the System architecture design, will be responsible on the integration activities, delivering the C2 functionalities to facilitate an effective performance and decision-making of end-users.
BiDaCus project aims to develop a cohesive and dynamic risk assessment tool for accelerated detection of customs frauds and anomalies, based on advanced AI techniques. ED will undertake the implementation of the system, which will boost the operation and the awareness of custom authorities and finally for the integration and the evaluation of the system using data from a real custom
TENACTIty envisions addressing the challenges the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) face during their decision-making that affect the safety of European citizens.
This will be done by developing modern and effective tools for the exploitation of travel intelligence data by security authorities exploiting game-changing digital technologies, training and sensitization of LEA’s personnel, and a holistic approach to crime prevention, ensuring that TENACITy will support the identification of the modus operandi of criminal terorrism organisations.
ED is the project coordinator and is responsible for developing a Risk Management tool to support LEAs in the deployment of security measures, creating a library that will provide the travel intelligence tools developed by TENACITy, and liaising with European initiatives in the field of security research for border management.
EURMARS’s vision is to expand the common risk assessment practices currently deployed by authorities in the maritime domain to enable the development, deployment, and evaluation of a secure multitasking surveillance platform that improves sensing capabilities for a wide range of security risks and threats in wider border areas by clustering high altitude platforms technology, satellite imagery, UxVs, and ground-based sensors into a novel joint surveillance capability. As part of the EURMARS framework, the various existing and future systems for maritime surveillance will be integrated to allow for the collaborative operation and the provision of the sensing results to related authorities.
ED is the project coordinator and is responsible for the EURMARS architecture, the integration of all its components, and the provision of the C2 platform.
CO-PROTECT project aims to deploy technological solutions that ensure civil protection in many aspects of crisis management.
Τhe CO-PROTECT Interoperability Framework takes into account meteorological, geological, seismological, topographical or other centrally gathered operational data so that decision making is supported for:
- forest fire management
- flood management
- extreme weather conditions management
- earthquakes management
- critical infrastructures protection
The CO-PROTECT solutions will be tested over a set of use-cases involving risk-related data for the Greek area, where extensive experiments will show effectiveness through demonstrators.
ED is responsible for designing the system architecture and providing the risk calculation and assessment engine to estimate the threats and vulnerabilities for critical infrastructures, based on algorithms that take into account risk–related data. Methodologies and tools will be developed so that critical infrastructures are continuously monitored and protected by natural disasters by means of prevention and early warning.
UnderSec
The UnderSec project brings together a multinational practitioners’ consortium consisting of experts in the maritime security and underwater security domain, research/academic institutions and technology partners providing for surveillance and monitoring, sensing (detection, recognition and classification), response, command / control / communications / computers / intelligence (C4I), autonomous and remotely operated UU/SVs technologies, and End-Users from the Coast Guard, Borders Control, Port Authorities sectors. UnderSec project will develop an underwater security solution to offer to the Users the capability to cover their current capabilities gaps and enhance their underwater security capacities and capabilities to conduct security operations and accomplish their mission effectively.
UnderSec will develop a modular ships’, ports’ and maritime infrastructures’ Underwater Security Situational Awareness (continuously updated security risk assessment, 24/7 underwater surveillance, early threats’ detection, threats’ and suspicious objects’ recognition and classification), Decision-Making Support and Response prototype System.
European Dynamics is acting as the technical coordinator of the project, responsible for the definition of the system specifications as well as the design and integration of the system. European Dynamics will also bring its expertise and ready software platforms and tools on risk assessment, warning messages generation and visualisation, command and control, and cyber security.
