01/07/2009 Oracle Database Specialist (ODS/01/07)

We currently have a vacancy for an Oracle Database Specialist, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Dublin, Ireland, and who will form part of our internal IT team.

Your tasks:

  • Design and implementation of database;
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems;
  • Determination of any shortcomings of database system and recommending improvements;
  • Development and maintenance of package code / stored procedures on an ongoing basis to support development teams;
  • Advising developers on best practice and optimal approach in the use of PL/SQL;
  • Provision of support for data analysis and data-driven decision making;
  • Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle of enterprise applications within given scope and timeframe requirements;
  • Developing customised reports.

Your skills:

  • At least 5 years experience in Oracle;
  • At least 2 years experience in working with an Oracle 10g database;
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of using SQL & PL/SQL;
  • Experience in Oracle query optimisation using cost based optimiser and in Oracle Discoverer;
  • Knowledge and understanding of context and composite indices;
  • Fluency in English.
