EUROPEAN DYNAMICS is looking to recruit in Athens: Senior Editor

Join a diverse, multilingual Editorial and Communications team working in the emerging field of website content management and web communities.

Activities currently include information, communication and promotional services for important projects of EU interest.

Responsibilities:

  • The position refers to Team-Leader of an existing Editorial team of in-house editors, plus content-related contractors
  • Coordination of editing activities for various communication media: websites, newsletters, publications
  • Reviewing existing/ proposing new guidelines for the Editorial team, aiming to ensure consistency and, homogeneity of products
  • Drafting, editing and analysis, structuring of website content
  • Drafting, editing and proof-reading newsletter articles and promotional publications
  • Creation of user-friendly texts of relatively technical topics (e-government, e-environment, etc)
  • Coordination of research and data collection from specific information sources
  • Assessment, revision and expansion, of information sources
  • Assessment, revision and expansion of existing publications
  • Content revising and proofreading
  • Set up and monitoring of quality control procedures

Candidate should have a dynamic, proactive personality, and provide deadline-oriented, quality work.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Languages, Journalism or other relevant field
  • 5 years of proven experience in a Senior Editor position
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills in English (preferably native)
  • Synthetic with meticulous attention to detail
  • Capable of providing finalized deliverables, with little or no need of revision
  • Fast learner, capable of using custom software tools
  • Prior experience in editing website content
  • Prior experience in English publications
  • Familiarity / understanding of web content management tools

Good knowledge of any other EU-27 language(s) will be considered an important asset.
