15/04/2008 Designer-Desktop Publisher (DES-PUB/10/07)

Tasks:

  • Design and prepare brochures, booklets, logos and other graphical elements for offset production (4-colour process, cropping, bleeding, typesetting, CMYK, RGB, Pantone, etc);
  • Perform overall quality checks on material intended for production with high quality standards and within strict deadlines;
  • Take over publication production projects from start to finish without supervision;
  • Assist in the set-up and the follow-up of working procedures with suppliers related to all aspects of production;
  • Assist in identification of potential future suppliers;
  • Liaise with other professionals of the printing industry to collect requirements and provide print-ready artwork;
  • Provide technical input for reports and quotations upon request.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have University diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the areas described above, good command of English, strong interpersonal and team working skills. Solid knowledge of the offset and digital printing industry (printing process, terminology, techniques) and excellent knowledge of the Adobe CS2 Suite and/or other tools of the trade (vector and raster) are essential. Web Design (html, css, graphics etc.) and knowledge of French will be considered as important assets.
